Super dog Sophie!

Sophie, an Australian sheepdog, fell overboard as her family sailed through rough Australian seas. Then Sophie did what any fearless dog would do - or try to do - swim to safety!

Sophie managed to swim 5 nautical miles in the storm to arrive at Bee's Island (near the Queenland Coast). The coast guard found Sophie living on Bee's Island subsisting on a diet of baby goats. When strangers tried to feed her she refused to take the food (probably because she had been warned not to take food from strangers).

However, when her owner showed up to greet Sophie there was a joyful reunion of tail wagging and whimpering.

Well, done, Sophie! You're a REAL Adventure Mutt!

Can your dog learn to use public transportation?

Apparently, stray dogs in Moscow have taught themselves how to use the public transportation system.

Biologist Andrew Poyarkov, who has studied dogs and other animals says that it is true. It is reported that stray dogs are using the subway system to ride into central Mosow every morning where it is easier to find srcaps of food.

In the evenings these dogs take the subway back out to the outskirts of the city where they find better places to sleep. "They seem to have learned how long they need to stay on the train to leave at the right station," says, Poyarkov (as reported in the Week - It Must be true...I read it in the tabloids).
